Vehicles in German City Found Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police mentioned they were notified by a man who discovered a car in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Approximately fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Cars, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.

Police state they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then discovered multiple other smeared vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Police say initial examinations indicate the fluid was probably human blood.

"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; authorities are currently not informed of any physical harm in connection with the occurrence," they added.

City officials announced they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have asked to the community for tips.

A high-ranking representative commented the vandalism left him without words and required to be resolved promptly.

"This incident affects the center of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist violent incident five years ago," he wrote on a platform, referring to the death of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
